U Sports, Canada’s biggest university-level sports regulatory organization, has 57 institutions participating in 12 sports. It promotes the growth of both men’s and women’s sports by providing scholarships and educational assistance. The TRU Wolf Pack, representing Thompson Rivers University, created history in 2022 by hosting and winning the U Sports Men’s Soccer Championship, beating UBC. The lads conquered the title sweating under freezing temperature. The support and love from the Kamloops local & students on the day was unreal and appreciated. This accomplishment demonstrates the program’s dedication to developing athletic skill with academic endeavors. In 2005, the Wolfpack became an official member of the U Sports.

Inside TRU Wolfpack

The TRU Wolfpack won their first U Sports championship in 2022, marking a historic accomplishment. The Wolfpack participates in and provides a wide number of sports, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, and swimming. For TRU students, free entry is a straightforward procedure that requires just the presentation of their TRU cards. All they have to do is express their support by cheering “OHH TRU Wolfpack” from the stands. Similarly, the Wolfpack’s recreational teams provide a variety of possibilities for student participation, including as drop-in sessions, intramural events, fitness and yoga training, and free Recruitment ID camps, all with the goal of cultivating a strong community spirit.

The Tournament Capital Centre (TCC) is a spectacular Centre of athletic achievement, with an assortment of world-class facilities designed to meet athletes’ demands. This world-class complicated includes world-class soccer stadiums, a running track, an aquatic center, basketball and volleyball courts, a wellness center, and an advanced gymnasium. TCC hosts various yearly athletic events, with the TRU Wolfpack proudly representing Thompson Rivers University on their historic grounds. In the U sports championship, TRU wolfpack plays every home game at TCC welcoming athlete from different Universities. Day tickets provide Kamloops locals and TRU students with free admission to the facilities, allowing them to take advantage of all it has to offer.
